Best Fall Book Releases for Kids

With the start of school and the holidays quickly coming upon us, many authors and publishing companies release some of the top books of the year. Check out these new releases for children’s books.

For the ages 3-5, the best release of the fall (August 2015) is The Day the Crayons Came Home written by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. This is the companion book to The Day the Crayons Quit. The book tells the story of some of the outcast colors from the crayon box and how their owner, Duncan, brings them all back together, back home. Click here for more top picks for this age group.

For the 6-8 age group, the top pick for fall is anticipated to be The Story of Diva & Flea by the very popular children’s author Mo Willems and illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi. This story, being released in mid-October. is about the explorations of the unexpected friends , Diva, the cat and Flea, the dog. Click here for more of the fall top picks for this age group.

Rick Riordan, a popular “tween” author, has a new series being released this month as well: Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Book 1: The Sword of Summer. The beginning of this series follows along the lines of Riordan’s other works and is a present day story with a Greek mythology twist. However, this time the focus is on the Norse gods.
